The U15 Mustangs capped off an incredible EEHL Winter League 2025–2026 season with a hard-fought, championship-winning performance—earning the inaugural U15 EEHL championship in a game that swung momentum shift by shift.

A Fast Start: Mustangs Find the Back of the Net Early

From the opening moments, the Mustangs set the tone with an early surge. They struck first when Quintis Cheng scored on a moment of open opportunity, firing a goal from in front after breaking the game wide open.

The pressure didn’t let up. Soon after, the Mustangs made it a second score when Jayden Ng buried one off a rebound, extending the lead and putting the Wolves on their heels.

Wolves Respond: Jonas Takes Over to Tie It Up

Just when it looked like the Mustangs might run away with it, the Wolves answered in a big way. Jonas delivered a dramatic momentum shift—netting two huge back-to-back goals, both finished with impressive precision. The first came with a strong low-glove finish, and the second followed immediately, tying the game and turning the match into a true battle. After two periods, the scoreboard read 2–2, setting up a high-stakes third period.

Third Period Drama: Nicholas Breaks the Tie

In the tight, high-pressure stretch that defines playoff hockey, Nicholas stepped up to change the game. He broke the tie with a skillful finish—glove high backhand—a goal that clearly energized the Mustangs and put them back on top.

The Insurance Goal—and a Late Charge by the Wolves

With the Mustangs in front, they kept attacking. Anson Lam added to the lead, scoring to put the Stangs up by two. His goal came after he executed a powerful move directly to the net—exactly the kind of play that wins championships.

But the Wolves would not go quietly. With under five minutes left, Kelvin Cao ripped one home, pulling the Wolves within one and setting up a dramatic final stretch.

With urgency at its peak, the Wolves pulled their goalie and called a timeout—trying to chase the equalizer. But despite the late pressure, they couldn’t find the tying goal.

In the End: The Mustangs Are Champions

When the final whistle sounded, the U15 Mustangs had done what great teams do: they responded at every moment—when they needed early energy, when they needed answers, and when they needed composure under pressure.
